Hi, Our children bought a new game which updated the firmware and now the USB loaders don't work (message USB Loader GX needs unstubbed cIOS 222v4 or 249v9, 1 found 222=0, 249=0 Go figure out how to get some cIOS action going on and come back and see me)!? And then the screen changes to Exception (DSI) occurred! And lists GPR00 to GPR31 then 'Stack Dump' and then 'Code Dump' Our Wii is not connected to the internet. Our Wii has an older version of HBC installed (v1.0.6 I think? If that version number is referring to HBC as I'm not sure how to find the version number but this number popped up at some stage) Everything, besides the firmware update to 4.2E, is as it was when we bought the Wii (2nd Hand) and had been working fine until now.

On HBC are: - uLoader, - WiiFlow (IOS 249), - (!)cIOS 222 installer v4 (one ther twice for some reason), - cIOS38r14 installer - Dop-IOS MOD - NeoGamma - USB Loader GX - WAD Manager - /apps/priiloader/boot.dot I notice that some of these are not recommended on this site because they are too risky. I am really worried about doing something wrong and bricking the Wii so my question is whether I would be safer to return the Wii to it's factory settings (which would wipe everything right?) and start completely from the beginning or whether I can just go ahead and follow your tutorial? Or perhaps just a part of it? Also, I seem to be going around in circles as to what I should do first I read the following sequence in your response to some one else: bootmii, IOS236, d2x, hermes, usb loader, optional forwarder and am wondering if that applies to my situation as well. If not, I would really appreciate if you would list the steps that I need to follow in the right order for this situation (so that I don't get anything wrong and can undo it if I do!) I would really appreciate your help so that I can proceed with confidence:-). Hello everybody, On my 3rd soft-modding of the Wii, I used letterbomb with GAF's Tutorial (Wii is connected to the Internet) and everything works, games on usb hd & forwarder also, but only if I use with the SD.

Steps used: 1) Letterbomb 2) Homebrew Channel 1.0.8 3) BootMii / hackMii 0.8 4) Formatted USB notebook HDD Toshiba 60GB to FAT32 using FAT32GUIFormatter.exe (This HDD worked on the 2 other Wii's) 5) IOS236 Installer v6 6) d2x cIOS Installer v2.2, Slot 248 - Base 56, Slot 247 - Base 57 7) Hermes' IOS222/223, Slot 224 - Base 37 v5.1) 8) CFG USB Loader v70 and uses 248 (meta.xml done) 9) Finally, Forwarder used: USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 v11b Stripes.wad For my other two Wii's I run everything off USB HD, for this setup I cannot, even though I moved sd:/apps & sd:/usb-loader to usb hd. Homebrew will not see apps and CFG (or forwarder) will not run. I've searched forums and any help would be appreciated! Hi, I have HDD (Iomega - 320G) with WBFS format, and has quite a few games. I was using Neogamma channel so far, but recently came across Config usb loader, and hence followed all instructions, and installed config usb loader. It is working perfectly. Thank to your nice instructions.

The issue I am having is, everytime I want to quit a game, and start new game, the only option is to press 'home' button to land onto will menu, and then load config usb channel again. But, if I start config usb loader channel while HDD is ON (with connected to USB closed to corner), the channel hangs, and I have to restart wii. Before loading config usb channel, I have to stop HDD, and start only when I load channel, and choose to load the form USB. I would like to know: 1.

Is there a way to quit a game, and start another game without having to re-load cofig usb channel? If one had to re-load config usb channel everytime a game is switched, then has anyone come across weird issue of HDD I mentioned above. My first post is related to softmodding a virgin 4.3E (offline console not being connected to WiFi) which is brand new and has never run a game. So far I have these files: 1. Letterbomb 2. Hackmiiinstallerv0.8.zip (this creates HBC but also contains a function to create a NAND backup?) 3. IOS236 (is it recommended to use NUS Downloader or Mod-Mii?

Which one is better) 4. D2x-v7-final.zip 5. Priiloader 6. A couple of Popular USB Loaders 7. Homebrew Browser, Hacks.ini 2010-08-17, The GAF's tutorial is noob friendly but Im not entirely confident everything will run smooth for me.

The guide is a fraction outdated also. Does anyone have any further advice or recommendation before this Virgin becomes a Brick. No matter what I do and how accurately I follow tutorials the Technology Gods always get the better of me. Hence the negativity and this forum post. I have a large spoon and wish to be spoonfed the softmodding procedure. SysCheck v2.1.0b19 by DoubleA and R2-D2199, Nano.runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).

Hi guys, So, 2 years ago I tried homebrewing my Wii and I happened to install the Homebrew Channel and a black theme for the user interface. 01) Fast forward to this day and I don't know how to uninstall the black theme, as I want the default white one back. I tried formatting my Wii but to no avail.

How can I uninstall it? 02) I uninstalled the Homebrew Channel with my SD card and now want to install it again.

Though, when I'm asked if I want to launch the 'boot.dol/elf' file and I say 'Yes' it just gives me a black screen. What can I do? It feels like have tried searching everywhere, trying everything. I hope somebody still lurks these forums and want to help one out who have tried to homebrew for a good 2 years.

Fist of all I would like to thank GAF for this great tutorial, it worked for me where other guides did not, thank you! I want to install the Hermes' IOS, for that I need to install IOS236, I'm follwoing the instructions for 236 installation & all seems to be going ok. No errors or any issues. When I get to section 5 in the Hermes' IOS: Select IOS236 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A If you don't have IOS236, then pay more attention to the 'What you should install first' section above. I do not have the IOS236 in the list.

What am I doing wrong? Long story short, I have a Japanese Wii, an American Wii, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance in Japanese. Japanese Path of Radiance disc broke two years ago.

A friend in Japan backed up his copy and sent it to me. I never used it, but now my Japanese Wii is biting the dust pretty badly, too, and I want to play it.

I could maybe softmod the Japanese Wii, but I'm scared to touch it right now for fear of it truly breaking down for good. My American Wii still works perfectly fine, and I was able to get as far as putting Homebrew Channel on it last night, but that's it. Is there a possible way to get through the region block AND allow for a backup of a Gamecube game to be played on a Wii? Looking around, this seems impossible, but I really want to play the game again (it's my favorite GC game), and I'm not forking out $150 for the game and who knows how much for another Japanese Wii online, plus expensive shipping. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hi, As from thread title I need some help because I recently bought used wii and I'm new to gaming consoles. When I got it I connected it to wifi and I tried to update everything (normal thing for me).

I successfully connected to internet but I got error 32004. I was browsing on internet and I found out that I have hacked wii. If I hold reset button while power on I got white screen where it says IOS v60, Systemmenu v450, priiloader v0.3b (r48M). I now wont to update to newest unlocked firmware. Can you guys please help me with that. There are many things written around it but since I have already unlocked wii I'm quite afraid to do it because I don't want to brick it. Currently I have a working system with Configurable USB Loader and am able to play my games from the external HDD.

The HDD has two fat32 partitions. One for configuration files and the other for game files. I only have a handfull of games and would like move them to a thumbdrive. The problem is that a thumbdrive cannot have two partitions on it. Linux lets you do it but windows and the Wii do not recognize the second partition.

How do people use thumbdrives for configurable USB loader? Do they use the thumbdrive in-conjunction with an SD card (config files)?

Is it possible to have the config files and game files on the same partition? If so what settings do I need to change? Thanks for any help.

This is a simple guide with full setup instructions for a Fat32 Hard Drive that can be used with your softmodded Wii. When using a Fat32 Hard drive with the Wii it can be used for Wii backups, NAND Emulation, homebrew apps and shared for other purposes.
